Homemade Hot Cross Buns

There’s something incredibly comforting about the sweet, spiced aroma of Homemade Hot Cross Buns fresh from the oven. Perfectly soft and fluffy, with just the right touch of cinnamon, nutmeg, and currants (or raisins), these buns are a classic treat.

This time came out so fluffy and delicious, picture taken before topping with marmalade and a chutney I found (no honey in the house)... Dunno what happened with the crosses they just blended in this time any thoughts?? 🤔

Looking good! It can be for a number of reasons like leaving the cross on for too long before baking, if the piping of the paste isn't thick enough or the consistency of the paste being too thin.

Made these today and the family absolutely loved them. I’m allergic to dried fruit so couldn’t try one but now I. Looking forward to trying with chocolate chips instead 😋

Hi, ingredients list says 250g of peel is this lemon peel or something else? Also seems like a lot of peel?

You can do 200g mixed dried fruit (raisins, currants, sultanas, and chopped peel) - just updated the ingredients list!
