Pulse the chicken thighs in a food processor until minced but not smooth. Tip into a bowl and gently mix in the garlic, MSG, ginger, spring onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, milk or yogurt, beans and black pepper. Mix just until combined.

Keep heat medium, sesame burns fast. | Do not press the burgers while cooking, it pushes juices out. | If the mix feels loose, chill longer rather than adding breadcrumbs. | Ratio to remember for the sauce: 4 mayo : 1 soy : 1 honey. | Slice cold burgers into noodle or rice bowls. | Chop and crisp the patties, use in lettuce wraps. | All components work brilliantly in wraps or as a deconstructed bowl the next day.

Are the butter beans whole or smashed up for this one?? Family enjoyed it although I need to make the burgers a little smaller.

Hey Fay N! The butter beans are whole in this recipe, adding a nice texture. If you’re going smaller, those bites will still be lovely-sized!
