Notes

For the pastry, Ratio: 4:1:1:1 4 = Flour 1 = Butter 1 = Milk 1 = Water i.e. 400g flour, 100g butter, 100g milk, 100g water Remember you can make the pasty ahead of time and freeze it which will save you time when making the pie! I use a deep cake tin when I make my pies because it makes a big fat juicy pie but you do you!

Lovely recipe, made with shop brought puff pasty on the top for quickness. Flavours were lovely. The first time I made it, it wasn't thick enough for me, so next time I added some cornflour to thicken it up before putting it in the oven and it came out beautiful. Definitely make it again.

I'm thinking of doing individual pies can I use the same ratio for the pastry? As I was thinking of doing a hot water pastry as well

Hi Scott, nice idea! You can keep the ratio the same, just need to reduce the quantities depending on how many individual pies you want to make. E.g. if you want to make 4, you need to divide the quantities for the pastry ingredients by 4 if that makes sense? Let me know how you get on!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Made this from the video before the app came out. Swapped out the bacon for left over gammon from a roast. Absolutely amazing, even the kids demolished this and they don't usually do pies! Will be making again, can't wait to try the others
